 Common FAQ    |      2022-01-18

Product Description
The OK Pool Hedging Service is an exposure hedging product tailored for OK Pool users to secure yields in advance. After estimating the number of token one is able to mine in a certain period of time, a miner may secure the value of the token with this service by agreeing to sell “in advance” the to-be-mined tokens at the current price.

Product Rules
You can access the Hedging Service with both main and sub-accounts. For supported assets, please refer to the list of assets on the home page.

Hedging Account
The Hedging Account is a designated account for Hedging Service and cannot be accessed in your OKX Funding Account.

Margin Deposit
Only USDT is accepted for Hedging Service margin deposit. You may transfer in USDT to add margin deposit. Other coins or tokens are not accepted for margin deposit. If there is an open position, the transferred deposit will be automatically allocated to repay the hedged amount.

Parameters

  • Hedged amount: The amount of an asset you would like to hedge. The larger the hedged amount, the more the margin deposit required. For the maximum hedged amount, please refer to the below table:
  • Minimum hedging price: The system will sell your hedged asset at this price or above. Please set a reasonable price. Excessive deviation from market price may hinder your hedged asset from selling.
  • Maximum hedging period: the longest hedging period available is 180 days. You should close your hedge within 180 days, or your position will be force-closed when over time.

Create a Hedge
You may create a hedge by configuring your hedged amount and minimum hedging price.

Generate a Hedge
A hedge is called successful when all the hedged asset is successfully sold or you stop part of the hedged asset from selling. The system will display the average price of the hedge, which is the average selling price of the hedged asset.

Stop a Hedge
If you stop part of the hedged asset from selling, the hedge is partially successful. A hedge is generated
If the whole hedge is not sold, the hedge is unsuccessful. The hedged amount is zero and no hedge is generated.

Adjust a Hedge
After a hedge is generated, you may adjust the average hedging price and minimum hedged amount of your hedge. By increasing your hedged amount, the system will automatically hedge the difference. By reducing your hedged amount, you will have to repay the difference. (Regarding of the reduction of hedged amount, as the buyback and repayment process involves transaction fee, the actual hedged amount may slightly deviate. Please refer to the actual amount.)

Transfer out the Yield
You may repay the hedged amount by transferring in the hedged asset. After repayment, the corresponding locked USDT will be unfrozen for transfer-out. The available transfer-out amount depends on your Hedging Account risk. Please refer to the system for the actual amount available.

Close a Hedge
You may close your hedge anytime with the hedging period.

You can close a hedge by transferring in the hedged asset to full repay the hedge.
